Confession: I never watched Schitt’s Creek until it was over this summer. It’s a weird pattern I have with TV series. Ever since that first Sex and the City binge-watch on rented DVD’s from the video store during the summer of 2002.

The first time I could stream a series online, I binged all six seasons of LOST between Thanksgiving and the New Year. Then Mad Men... it goes on. The series ends and then I want to watch it. I can’t explain it.

When Schitt’s Creek ended, I cried. That’s never happened before. Eugene Levy shows up in my dreams a lot. He’s one of my celebrity crushes.

Anyway.

What was my point?

THIS SHOW.

Schitt’s Creek made me laugh out loud and yell at the TV. Yell in a good way. Not really the TV, but my laptop, because I don’t have a TV. But you know what I mean.

These small, original portraits are painted on top pages cut and upcycled from my sketchbooks.

This portrait is from the series, 100 Portraits in 100 Days: A Quarantine Diary.

What began as a creative challenge to focus my energies during the first weeks of solo quarantine in March 2020, evolved into a diary of my experience.
