“As if you were on fire from within.
The moon lives in the lining of your skin.”
― Pablo Neruda
Poetry is where you’ll often find me rekindling my creative fire.
If I’m particularly stuck in a dilemma, or don’t know how to proceed next, I take refuge in poetry, a language that seems to speak directly to the soul.
So today’s prompts are inspired by a line from a Pablo Neruda poem.
If you want more Pablo, I highly recommend:
a) Any of his books of poetry. I’ve had most all — each well worn and replaced after being given away to friends over the years. Time to stock up again since moving to Mexico with not many of my beloved books.
b) Make some popcorn and curl up with the movie, Il Postino – where Neruda and his poetry are characters.
c) Get the Il Postino soundtrack, where you can hear rock stars and actors reading Neruda’s poems. I especially adore the performance by Wesley Snipes.
This video, below, is a little behind-the-scenes trailer in the making of that soundtrack.
Today’s Journal Prompts:
The fire within I am kindling…
This fire is showing me…
If I acted as if I were on fire from within…
I am on fire with…
I am longing for…
