“Be brave enough to live life creatively. The creative place where no one else has ever been.”
― Alan Alda
Your life is the ultimate work of art.
As you are reading this, I’m probably in the painting studio, clothes and hands covered in paint.
My biggest dream as a child was to be an artist.
What I can see now, looking into that magical rearview mirror of retrospect, is that pursing my path of becoming an artist wasn’t really about the art.
It’s about where the love of art would take me.
Does that make sense?
I’ve been trying to get these thoughts down on paper, in my visual memoir, Drivin’ & Cryin’, mentioned here yesterday.
The ultimate work of art is you.
Trusting in that is what helps me be brave. Brave enough to take the next step.
Brave enough to trust in my own path: even when it doesn’t look like someone else’s, or what I think it should be, or what others expect it to be.
This is something I need to remember, over and over again.
So I keep it on a post-it note where I paint.
Today’s Journal Prompts:

Living my life creatively is brave because…
The creative place that is unique to my experience…
