The Creative Journey Facilitator Training

“The future belongs to a very different kind of person with a very different kind of mind — creators and empathizers, pattern recognizers, and meaning makers.

These people — artists, inventors, designers, storytellers, caregivers, consolers, big picture thinkers — will now reap society’s richest rewards and share its greatest joys.”

– Daniel Pink, A Whole New Mind

After a dozen years of people asking me to train them in my workshop methods, the time is here. The first two training sessions took place in 2015 and 2016. The next session is now open for early registration!

The 2017 Training is SOLD OUT. If you’d like first dibs on a space in the 2018 Training please add your email to the interest list below:

Whether you want to:

  • Take the training just for yourself
  • Adapt the methods to your own workshops and classes
  • Teach my workshops in your community
  • Take this work to underserved populations
  • Travel the world while you get paid to teach workshops along the way
  • Become a a more effective speaker, leader, presenter
  • Use the framework to design your own body of work (I hope you do!)
  • Figure out how to scale up and reach a bigger audience

I want to help you do that.

It’s also ok if you have absolutely no idea why you want this or what you would do with it (this usually how I end up in all the courses I take).

There are people who need you to guide them, who:

  • want to find their creative voice, or make a new body of work
  • are in a life transition that is difficult or scary— like divorce, illness, empty nest, career change,
  • struggle with being seen, or putting their work into the world.
  • have no idea what they want, just something “more creative”
  • crave clarity and focus—too many ideas without enough follow-through!

But how to help them? How to create and facilitate a great workshop experience?

Why should people hire YOU? This takes years of trial and error and expense to figure out on our own.

What You’ll Get

Experience from the inside out with The Creative Journey Method: A unique way of approaching creativity that is informed by depth psychology, intuitive healing, indigenous wisdom, critical thinking and spiritual inquiry. Yeah! Those are a lot of paths converging here!

Leadership Training: How to lead workshops that engage and inspire people. The best tools from leadership, behavioral psychology, coaching, and…believe it or not… wilderness guiding.

Creativity Workshop Design: a proven set of tools, methodology and philosophy, that can be adapted and used with every type of audience and experience.

This work is used in psychiatric hospitals, orphanages, corporate offsite meetings, conferences, universities, grade schools, spiritual retreat centers, churches, art schools, and in living rooms and community centers all over the world.

Business Chops: How to fill your workshops, what to charge, strategies and tactics that work, and what to avoid. There are about a thousand things at play here – I promise to keep it all simple, fun, do-able.

Community + Connection: The global community of Creative Sketchbook Facilitators, or “Guidesses” as we like to call ourselves, is strong, supportive, and comforting, 24/7. Sorry if that just sounded like a description of your favorite bra.

We are a global circle of kindreds who really do help each other to make our dreams real. 24/7? We’ve learned that someone’s always up, whenever we need to check in, because of the worldwide time zones. Woo hoo!

The MOST unique thing about this method? Like all of my workshops, everything is taught (transmitted, really) with experiential creative projects, led by example. You actually use your creativity to take the journey. Which makes it incredibly enjoyable, by the way – it won’t seem like work.

Using your full creative powers happens…by using them. You’ll see (and experience this) for yourself. This is truly transformative work on every level.

The next training begins in the Spring of 2017. Schedule is below.

This workshop takes place entirely online, so you can participate wherever you are.

Add 1:1 Private Coaching with Lisa

Do you want some 1:1 private support during the facilitator training? Private coaching sessions help you focus, stay accountable and get scary or overwhelming things done — in your life, business, and in the training!

We can work together on technical stuff with your business, like websites and mailing lists. Marketing your work: help with writing you about page, sales pages (you know the stuff that makes you go UGH!), photography and social media. I can coach you through the stuck and confusing places (like choosing the best business ideas) and help you stay accountable.

If you are a current or past participant in the training, you may sign up for a 1:1 coaching package. Coaching is limited to a few new clients each year, and only for those who are training or have trained with me.

Six Session Package: Payment Plan is 6 payments of 275, or pay 1,500 in full and save $150

Buy Now: 6 Private Coaching Sessions

Twelve Session Package: Payment Plan is 12 payments of 250, or pay 2,750 in full and save $250

You can use your sessions at any rate you like: once per month, twice per month, or do one session once you begin the training and do the rest in a cluster at the end. Whatever works best for you!

My Higher Purpose & Promise

I stand 1000% behind my work, and strive to deliver way more value than what I charge for.

It took me years of work and refinement to design this training so that it covers the most important points, offers the best experience for you, and leaves out anything non-essential.

It’s a distillation of so much good stuff – I’m really proud of it and eager to share.

The best types of trainings let you experience the work for yourself.

Mastery follows as you build understanding of the methods behind the work, join the group discussions, assist in workshops with Lisa, and get mentorship through your workshop design and delivery.

The supplies required for this course are the same as for the pre-requisite workshops you’ve already taken. This is an experiential creativity workshop in itself – which lays the foundation for giving your workshops.

Serendipity

Teaching workshops is the best thing I’ve ever done as an artist, healer, business person. Teaching workshops inspired me to start sharing my work online in 2002, simply as a way of sharing my work with students.

This humble beginning led to more teaching requests, and the biggest dream-come-true of all: a publisher calling me and asking me if I would write a book about my workshops. That first book became The Creative Entrepreneur .

You never know where this might take you, and if it feels resonant, I hope you’ll allow me to be your guide.

with big heart,

with love, Lisa Sonora

p.s.

Since you’ve read (or scrolled) all the way down here, I’d love to share a few more thoughts with you about my workshop & training philosophy:

Workshops and trainings are designed to help everyone access their own creativity and imagination. Whether you think your “not creative” or you are a working artist who needs a shift, we all benefit from fresh ways of approaching the blank page.

Blank pages in our sketchbooks are beautiful mirrors of our life, after all. This is good!

We play around on the paper in non-threatening ways, and this auto-magically translates into doing things differently in life.

While we use art supplies, we aren’t making art.

We’re taking a creative journey. We’re cultivating a personal creative practice.

All done in the spirit of healing, finding our voice, daring to trust our own inner guidance, putting form to our ideas.

This is really no less than a spiritual path, a kind of pilgrimage of the soul. If I dare say so out loud.

Any creative path and practice that emphasizes process over product will lead you deeply inward and result in health. Working this way is an antidote to self-destruction and self-sabotage.

If you’ve been stuck or confused or just…wondering…how can I express myself more? How can I dare act on my creative ideas?

Especially if you are plagued with old ideas like: I’m not creative.., I’m not an artist…, It’s too late…, I’ve already tried blah, blah, blah…Why Bother?!

These are the kinds of old stories that tear us down and keep us stuck.

This is where fear and resistance thrive.

The good news: none if this is a big deal once you have a few skills and tools that actually change the negativity into something life-giving and useful.

Shorthand word is: Happification.

Creativity soars when we re-create the stories we tell ourselves. This re-creates our world. From the inside out.

The ultimate work of art is YOU.

Hi Lisa, I have a question regarding payment. If I sign up to pay in installments, will I be able to pay off the balance in one go if my finances come right in a couple of months?

    • Lisa Sonora November 20, 2015 at 10:07 am #

Yes, Jules – you can email me anytime to make another arrangement.

“The Creative Entrepreneur Method is a holistic way of designing and launching products and ideas because it provides extremely practical and strategic tools that make business successful, while taking exquisite care of the psyche and spirit of the person doing the making.”

Beautiufully stated. I so enjoy how creativity can help people open and become more generative. I am also a guide – trained in spirtual guidance over 30 years, and yes I look at he cost of that- just a piece of my overall training = 55,000.00. So I hope to combine it with other areas of my training as an artist , mother and caring soul. Nice to meet you! Sofia

  6. Paula January 23, 2015 at 6:14 am #

Yea! This is the training I need and can afford! But I can’t take it this year so I’m super psyched that you already know you’re offering it next year. See you in 7 Creative Powers in June!

    • Lisa Sonora January 23, 2015 at 8:29 am #

@Paula – I look forward to working with you! Thanks so much for the love note here.

Hi Debbie, I have had the same problem. Signed up on the 31st of December but did not receive any confirmation either which is strange because they are usually immediate. I’ve emailed Lisa and Jen (her womderful tech support person) but have not heard back either. Glad to know I’m not the only one with this problem.. Let’s keep in touch and share what info we find out. I’m so looking forward to this workshop! Christine

    Hi Lisa,
Am so l looking forward to making this class the focus of my year! I signed up before Christmas but haven’t received a confirmation or any info – please get someone to confirm I am registered? Many thanks. Debbie

    • Lisa Sonora January 9, 2015 at 1:28 pm #

Debbie & Christine – let me look into this – sorry I am just seeing the comment now! I’m sure you’re registered – so don’t worry. I’ll will also look in my email. Jen and I are on it!

  9. Susan December 31, 2014 at 7:22 pm #

Said a big, giant YES and hit the button to sign up. I’m so excited!

  10. Lauralyn December 31, 2014 at 6:44 pm #

yay….I am signed up and looking forward to this journey with all of you! Happy New Year!

  11. Max December 31, 2014 at 6:36 pm #

I’m SO full of anticipation! I signed up tonight after deciding that, yes, I CAN afford this because it’s an investment in myself. I haven’t stopped grinning since I hit the “pay now” button. I don’t know what’s in store but I know it’s gonna be wonder-full! Whoo-hoo!

  12. Lauralyn December 31, 2014 at 3:14 pm #

I am about to signup :). Question? Is the Traing vs coaching identical with the exception of the 1:1 coaching. Does the basic training give you the perks mentioned under the coaching or are those separated. This was not clear to me. Thanks.

    • Lisa Sonora December 31, 2014 at 5:36 pm #

Lauralyn – The training is identical – whichever option you choose.

      • Lauralyn December 31, 2014 at 6:30 pm #

Thanks Lisa. I like the coaching idea proposed above -a possibility option on as need basis. 🙂

  13. Louise Asselin December 31, 2014 at 10:57 am #

    Lisa,
Thanks very much for your concern. I am sure you will find something for the ones who want to continue progressing WITH you!
    And happy New Year !
    Louise

  14. Christine December 31, 2014 at 10:18 am #

Also a BIG YES. I won’t be able to afford the option with monthly private coaching but will register for the basic option. Regarding that, and on the topic of more cost effective options, would you consider an option with maybe fewer private coaching options (e.g. 3 which means every other month, or even just 2, one at end of first month an one at the end)? Christine

    • Lisa Sonora December 31, 2014 at 5:41 pm #

Christine – Yes – that’s a great idea to offer fewer private coaching sessions. Let me dwell on how to make it simple and easy for us all – I think I’ll just include a link to purchase and individual session or a smaller package inside of our private classroom area once we get started.

I like this idea because some people really KNOW they want ongoing coaching for the whole time. Others may decide it would be helpful at a certain point – so I’d like to accommodate.

Thanks so much – I am loving having everyone’s input. It makes everything better for everyone. 🙂

      • Christine December 31, 2014 at 5:52 pm #

Looking forward to the experience. By the way, I signed up today, got the Paypal confirmation but nothing from your office (which usually also confirms). Anything amiss?

      • Krystyna December 31, 2014 at 6:15 pm #

I like this idea as well and can imagine that at some point it would be good to have the option a session or two… ^_^

      • Krystyna December 31, 2014 at 6:15 pm #

I like this idea as well and can imagine that at some point it would be good to have the option of a session or two… ^_^

      • Emma Yisraela Tzviah December 31, 2014 at 8:49 pm #

I like this idea + framing a lot! I felt the vibe of I will want a coach or 2 along the way, but not exactly sure when yet. Fantastic.

  15. Krystyna December 30, 2014 at 4:25 pm #

This has my big YES! Excited….. Woohoo!

    • Lisa Sonora December 31, 2014 at 5:42 pm #

      Wonderful, Krystyna! Can’t wait!

  16. Louise Asselin December 21, 2014 at 2:18 pm #

    Bonjour Lisa,

I won’t be able, unfortunately, to follow this wonderfull program you are offering in 2015. I simply can’t afford it, now.

But I had this fool and ”creative” idea that maybe you could offer each of the 8 sessions ”à la carte” i.e. that one would be able to buy ONE

SESSION at a time, buying the next one as soon as one can afford it.

This means that you would have a 2nd group for this Creative Program.

I am sure that there are hundred of persons outthere who would subscribe right now, at the actual price for a subscription before January 1st.

What do you think about that?

Thank you so much for your attention.

    Louise

    • Lisa Sonora December 31, 2014 at 8:41 am #

Louise – Thank you for your idea – and nothing at all in the creative ideas department is at too “fool” to share. This is where everything springs from.

I am dwelling upon your idea…what is a more affordable, compact edition that could be offered?

If anyone else happens upon this page, feel free to share your ideas.

  17. Michelle Casserley December 14, 2014 at 9:02 am #

    Whee!!!
I’m so excited now! Ever since you first talked about this training, I’ve been looking forward to it!
    Thanks Lisa <3

    • Lisa Sonora December 31, 2014 at 5:43 pm #

Michelle! Whee right back atcha! You were the first to sign up, I think. 🙂
