See How Others Work in Their 30 Day Journal

See what people are making in their 30 Day Journals in this studio video

In last week’s studio video, I showed you how my 30 Day Journal Project journal is looking so far.

This week I’ve got a movie within a movie for you.

You’ll get to see how others are working in their own 30 Day Journals.

So much of creativity happens in isolation. Journal writing in particular is a solitary activity. Sometimes it’s helpful to connect with others who are working on the same kinds of creative projects.

One of my intentions with the 30 Day Journal Project is so help us create community, so we don’t have to feel so lonely in our creative pursuits.

I’ve been blogging since 2003, and it’s because of sharing my work online that I’ve gotten the welcome bonus of connecting with my creative kindreds.

Some of you have been with me from the beginning — even before I started blogging! Some of you are just discovering me and my work with this post.

It’s for you that I’m leaning into my next creative edge and making these studio videos.

Now – let’s see how others are working in their journals:

If you’d like to share your 30 Day Journal, please post on Instagram with the hashtag: #30DayJournal.

Adult Spring Break!

There are two workshops coming up in March here at my studio in Mexico:

Creative Photography for Visual Art Journals – with the lovely & amazing Catherine Anderson

Textiles & Talismans: Oaxaca, Mexico Art Workshop & Tour – led by me!

There is space available in BOTH workshops, in case you want to run away from home a little longer. 🙂 You can also arrive earlier and/or stay on addition days. You’ll have the run of the place, including getting to work in the studio you see in the videos.

The weather here is warm and sunny – with cool evenings. We are in the high desert, surrounded by mountains.

If you want to get a sense of where we are, check out this studio video:
Sketching in Mexico: Field Trip to Cuilapam Ruins in Oaxaca

We went on a sketching field trip to one of my favorite ruins here in Oaxaca, Mexico.
